A monomial is a single-term polynomial. It consists of one or more indeterminates, aka variables, with non-negative integer exponents. (Note: multiple variables in a monomial do not need to be raised to the same power.) The indeterminate(s) may also be multiplied by a non-zero constant, known as the coefficient of the monomial.
