linear transformation

In mathematics, a linear transformation is a transformation that satisfies the following two properties:

f(\mathbf{a} + \mathbf{b}) = f(\mathbf{a}) + f(\mathbf{b})

f(c\mathbf{a}) = cf(\mathbf{a})

A linear transformation preserves the operations of addition and scalar multiplication. Additionally, the origin remains fixed during a linear transformation.
