My initial robots will apparently not suffer from sensory overload as the starter kit only ships with 2 bump switch sensors (on left) and 2 limit switch sensors (on right). The switch sensors are actually more than sufficient for building simple bots and for learning about microcontroller programming. Fortunately other sensors are available individually including a light sensor, optical shaft encoder, and ultrasonic range finder.
